Down Time

Today was another day with nothing on the agenda. Our guide, Kelly, decided to take us to the newest part of the city. All the buildings have been built in the past 10 years, and many are still under construction. It's a beautiful area, with some really cool buildings, including an opera house, a museum, a stadium, the world's tallest TV tower, and lots of skyscrapers.

The boys in front of the World's Tallest TV tower. We were told people bungee jump off of it!
Just wanted to show off the smog. It's incredible.

Then we headed back to Shamian Island just to kill some time.

Little shops everywhere

Everything is going ok. Jonah is feeling better and was thrilled today to get his own Chinese outfit with matching sword with one for Judah to match (outfit, not sword). :)

Our guide brought her 8 year old daughter with us today. She didn't speak much English, but she and Jonah sat together on our bus and looked at a Chinese Disney comic book and played Angry Birds. Some things are universal, you know? As we were saying goodbye this afternoon, she gave Jonah a flower. It was so cute! :)

I'm still feeling pretty rough, but decided to bite the bullet and start taking some antibiotics. It's not really an ideal med for respiratory stuff, but I'm desperate at this point and hopeful they will help.

Not the world's greatest pic, but you get the idea. :)

  1. Continuing to pray for all of your health. I'm glad you've broken down and are taking something. Anything has got to be better than feeling sick. You've become my morning read and I've been sharing at work too. Our peds nurses were particularly impressed with your fashioning a spacer up when needed. :-) Can't wait until you get home and we get to meet the cutie!
